This review is from: Daughter of Joy (Brides of Culdee Creek, Book 1) (Paperback) This is book is excellent. The characters are complex and believable. The basic storyline may have been spun hundreds of times but this by far outshines all the ones I've read, and I've read a lot. When you get to a book like this you realize this is "Fine dining"! Ms Morgan obviously incorporated and instilled her own suffering into a beautiful book. 77 of 82 people found the following review helpful By This review is from: Daughter of Joy (Brides of Culdee Creek, Book 1) (Paperback) I haven't read any of Kathleen Morgan's previous books, but she has brought inspirational fiction a gift. The reference to intimacy (physical, emotional and spiritual) is realistic and powerful, although not graphic. Imagination has it's own rewards. The story line is great! The characters seem alive! Keep writing inspirational fiction, Kathleen! 47 of 50 people found the following review helpful By A Customer This review is from: Daughter of Joy (Brides of Culdee Creek, Book 1) (Paperback) DAUGHTER OF JOY is a beautiful story of redemptive love. Abby's walk of faith, sometimes followed by sheer force of will alone, resonated in my heart. And Conor's painful journey back to the safe harbor of a loving and forgiving God brought me to tears. Thank you, Ms. Morgan, for such a memorable read.--Robin Lee Hatcher, author of THE FORGIVING HOUR and WHISPERS FROM YESTERDAY |

This review is from: Fifty Shades Freed: Book Three of the Fifty Shades Trilogy (Paperback) There are life's guilty pleasures, and then there is the guiltiest spectacle of them all: the Fifty Shades of Grey spectacle. It's time to review this precious pearl of literary genius, so I'm going to dive on in. Hold me.When we last left our romantic icons, Ana Steele and Christian Grey, they were newly engaged and facing (a) Ana's ex-boss, Jack Hyde, whom Christian fired in a fit of jealous pique when Jack made a pass at Ana and (b) Christian's "Mrs. Robinson," the woman who initiated him into his life of BDSM. Can these two crazy love birds find happiness and contentment? Thank goodness E. L. James doesn't keep us hanging and gives us the GIFT that is Fifty Shades Freed. The tale opens just after Christian and Ana's wedding, as the two bask on their European honeymoon. They bicker, rock the headboard, bicker some more, and have make-up rocking of the headboard. While enjoying their romantic interlude, Christian learns that someone apparently tried to... With all the grammatical errors, lack of editing, repetitive phrases, and overall teenage writing style, how could this series possibly be on the New York Times best selling list? There's so many errors that I found myself searching for the next one instead of staying connected to the storyline. For all this you have to pay $10 for each of these books? Really NYT? I am SO thankful I was able to read this for free on my friend's kindle. EL James and the publishing house should be ashamed of letting this series go to publication, as is, let alone charging so much.As far as the characters, I'll start with Ana, the heroine. Or should I say the immature, weak, doormat. If you love a strong heroine or one who eventually becomes one, you will probably hate Ana as much as I do. She is seriously nauseating! Her thoughts and actions are those of a pre-teen, NOT a college... But typically she is repeating five phrases over and over again: 1) holy f*** 2) holy c*** 3) holy s*** 4) stop biting your lip you know what that does to me 5) laters, babe... Read more |
| 27 of 28 people found the following review helpful By Cheryl M-M (United Kingdom) - See all my reviews This review is from: The Seventh Sister, A Paranormal Romance (Parched, book Two) (Kindle Edition) This is written in a fresh bouncy YA way and I enjoyed it. Zillael (prob. spelt that wrong)is the type of older teen that always seems to be in detention, due to her attitude. She hates the small town she lives in, the people around her, the fact her mom is never around and of course the way everyone stares at her because she is a beauty. During a detention stint in which she has to serve punch to fellow classmates, she is attacked by vampire like beings and that is when she finds out that not only are some people around her not entirely human, but neither is she. The only thing that bothered me about the storyline is that it took me a while to figure out her age, because in the beginning she appears to be much younger (based on reactions in class and classmates) and it wasn't until the author mentioned a car she drove on occasion, that I realised she must be over 16. The scenes with the young male vamp in her bedroom are a bit racy (only a tidge, so I would recommend that the reader... This review is from: The Seventh Sister, A Paranormal Romance (Parched, book Two) (Kindle Edition) Someone told me to download this book. I took a chance and downloaded it. No one wants to read a bunch of mistakes but I didn't see all those errors, just one or two, the kind of stuff you find in all books basically. I'm intrigued by the series. To be honest, I'm not a reader of fantasy but one of my friends told me to try it. So I read it and now I'm in to it.This series says it's for adults but it's for teens too. I would say 17 and older because there's one scene that's sort of something you don't want your 16 year old doing but it happens though, as a parent you just don't want to know about it. Now that I'm hooked, I'm reading Parched and so far so good. Although Parched is book one, and this is book two, it was kind of confusing at first. It's not linear. P.s, I did notice that I downloaded a second edition that's why I was so nicely surprised. If the author is out there, maybe you should let people know that. I think that's a better edition. 8 of 10 people found the following review helpful Amazon Verified Purchase( What's this?) This review is from: The Seventh Sister, A Paranormal Romance (Parched, book Two) (Kindle Edition) Okay, finally finished it and fast. Loved it too! I read Parched first and this series is far from being cliché. This sister, Zill (sorry can't remember how to spell the full name right now) but Zill is mentioned in Parched and I'm glad she wrote a story to bring her into the main story. I'd like to see more about Fawn in the same way, and even Baron. I also like how different Zill is from the other two sisters. And I like how different the vampire in this story. Vayle I think is different from Baron. I can't wait until they all get together. Come on book three! This review is rushed but there's so much more I want to say about this series. I'm just glad it exists because it's really entertaining. Oh and one more thing. I think the description says that it's not YA. So, for the other person to say what she said is wrong. Just thought I'd say that. |
